Our goal in service ministry is to help people discover their spiritual gifts and passions and to use them to glorify Jesus Christ.
Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2
The purpose of music and arts in the church is nothing more than, nothing less than, nothing other than the work of the church which is ministry: Ministry to God, ministry to the people of God, and ministry to the world. (Bruce Leafblad)
…is not primarily about performance; is primarily about worship.
…is not about being slick, is about passion.
…is not about acquaintanceship; is about family.
…is not about momentary emotion; is about eternal significance.
…is not about competition; is about servanthood.
…doesn’t view talent as primary; views character and faithfulness as primary. (Dave Williamson)
The Worship Choir rehearses weekly on Wednesdays from 5:20 to 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center Choir Loft. We lead worship on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month and minister through special productions at other times during the year. This is a non-auditioned group.
Sound, Computer, Lighting, and Video Technicians are crucial in assisting our Worship Choir and Team communicate the Gospel each week during our Sunday morning Corporate Worship at 10:10 am.
The Worship Team consists of the Worship Band and Praise Teams and rehearses weekly from 8:00 to 9:00 am on Sunday mornings and on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 7:45 pm. We lead worship in our weekly Corporate Worship time on Sunday mornings at 10:10 am. This group is made up of individuals who are a part of the Worship Ministry and Worship Choir. Just like the Choir, the Worship Team views character and faithfulness as primary requirements to be a part. This is an auditioned group.
Keenagers Project Linus
Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another. 1 John 4:11
This ministry is a non-profit group named after the security blanket-toting character from the Peanuts comic strip. Project Linus has a two-fold mission: First to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need, through the gift of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “Blanketeers.” Second, its mission is to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children. This group meets every Thursday, in the Fellowship Hall at 10:00 am.
Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2
Our group loves to serve people and play with food. Our goal is to have fun in the kitchen cooking and serving meals for group functions while doing it in the name of the Lord.
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Ephesians 1:17
Our library is an excellent and economical way to read books, listen to CD’s and watch DVD’s. We receive new media frequently. Requests are always welcome!
Welcome Center & Greeters
Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Mark 9:37
This ministry welcomes guests and church members, helping them to feel at home, answering questions, offering brief tours of the church and presenting gifts to first-time visitorson Sunday mornings. We’re happy to see you!
…so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:11
We serve by seating others in the sanctuary, when needed, and by collecting tithes and offerings during Worship Service.
To Your Door Ministry
To Your Door Ministry exists to welcome our first-time guests and let them know how glad we are that God has brought them to our church. No one is here by accident!
This ministry has two parts: Cookie Bakers and Cookie Takers. You will be serving around once every 6 weeks, depending on whether or not we have guests the week you are assigned.
Cookie Bakers bake one dozen cookies per family; each dozen cookies packaged in its own re-sealable bag and left in the church office. You will then call that week’s Cookie Taker once you have delivered the baked cookies to the church.
Cookie Takers should come to the church office to pick up the cookies and package them with the provided gift bags and tissue paper. Write a brief note on the note cards provided to say welcome, thanks for coming and we hope you will return to worship with us again. Deliver each package to the door of the recipient.
A Cookie Taker should introduce himself/herself, offer the bag and extend an invitation to return to worship; it is not our goal to gain entrance into homes or proselytize. It is our goal to express the love of Christ through this ministry.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. John 16:20
This team coordinates and facilitates meals for a family who has lost a loved one, following a funeral.
…and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him. Luke 10:35
For those whose passion is helping others with medical needs, we have the Medical Team. Our goal is to provide emergent care and life saving techniques should the need arise. This team makes sure that the church has updated medical supplies, first aid kits, and a diabetic emergency kit. AED/CPR training is also offered up to twice a year.
